When I was 6 years old my mom took me and my older sister to a rollerskating ring where I saw for the first time in my life a real Disc Jockey entertaining many people. I knew at that moment that i wanted to become a DJ when I grew up, the year was 1978. I thought it was so cool the way he played music for everyone and made everyone there so happy, he was like a rock star to me.
10 years later i did my first party playing only Hip Hop R&B and Old School type music. Hip Hop was really big at the time so i decided to become a turntablist practicing my trick mixing and scratching i started entering small DJ battles and competitions.
It was super fun but i wanted more. In 1995 I met my first mentor who was a wedding DJ and taught me the basics of how to do weddings the right way. After learning from him for about a year i went on my own and started doing weddings and other professional events.
I quit my regular job and went all out with my DJ career and have never looked back. All along the way i never stopped learning and practicing my craft, keeping my skills sharp and growing as this music and technology changes. I now employ several assistants to help me with extra bookings and bigger events and are now traveling the entire state of California. It’s been a long journey and a lot of hard work but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
